Launched in 1939 The Dalesman is a popular monthly magazine serving the whole of Yorkshire with news, features and trivia from the dales, moors, coast and beyond.

The web design process…

The Dalesman Publishing Group approached Flair Digital to reimagine the the look and feel of their primary website presence. From a design perspective we started with a blank slate and worked with the company to highlight the key content areas and most visited sections to ensure these were easily accessed and featured prominently on the homepage. We worked with our client through several iterations before the final design was settled upon.

The Dalesman website features a modern, clean and simple visual design. The green colour scheme is heavily influenced by the Yorkshire countrisde and helps to maintains the clean and crisp feel throughout. Font choice and font weights were specifically set to ensure a high level of readability for the primary demographic of the magazine.

The focus throughout the design and build process was on ease of use and navigation for visitors, with content laid out in clear blocks which display well on mobile devices.
